The Brookhaven-Lincoln County Chamber of Commerce is gearing up for the night it will celebrate and honor the achievements and successes of the past year.
The annual membership celebration will be Nov. 3 at Ole Towne Church, 220 S. Church St. The Chamber will recognize and honor those who strive to further local business, industry and education and give out various awards.
“We will award small business of the year and agribusiness of the year,” Chamber program director Katie Nations said. “In addition, we will recognize the educators of the year from the area schools.”
The event will begin at 5:30 p.m. with the presentation of awards at 6 p.m. A local chef will cater the banquet.
“A great meal will be served for all of our Chamber members to enjoy,” Nations said.
Gregg Smith will present instrumental musical entertainment throughout the event.
Nations said the banquet allows members to relax and network. The banquet is a tradition to celebrate what has been accomplished over the past year, she said, as well as a time to install new Chamber officers and honor those stepping down.
“To me, it’s a way for the Chamber to say thank you to its members,” Nations said. “It’s a chance for everyone to recognize each other’s accomplishments.”
In addition to the festivities, the Chamber’s annual business meeting will be held during the banquet.
Advance tickets are $10 and are available at the Chamber. Tickets will also be available at the door the night of for $15. For more information, call the Chamber at 601-833-1411.
