Mark 11: 22-24 and Hebrews 11:6 speaks to mankind about the power of having faith. “‘Have faith in God,’ Jesus answered. I tell you the truth, if anyone says to this mountain, go throw yourself into the sea, and does not doubt in his heart but believes that what he says will happen, it will be done for him. Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours.” and “Without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him.”

Congratulations to Michael Harvey II as he continues to play the following two positions on the Loyd Star Hornets football team: quarterback and safety. He has contributed much to this institution by playing these positions. He and his teammates work well together during each game to get the job done to benefit and to represent their school. Their aim and their goal is to win the game and to make themselves proud and to make Coach Cook, the assistant coaches, their principal Mrs. Robin Case, the faculty and staff members, the student body, along with their many family members and their loyal fans proud. We pray for the safety of every player on the Loyd Star team and for the safety of the players on the opposing team during this entire season at Loyd Star and on the road. Loyd Star football team, we are proud of your hard work and of your winning ratio thus far and we hope that your entire season will be successful. We are also proud of the Loyd Star Hornets band and the band director as well as the cheerleaders and their directors.
Go, Hornets.
We also hope that all schools’ teams and coaches will have an enjoyable and a safe season in football during the 2016 season at home and on the road.
Eva Harris and Lincoln County Schools Alumni will have a meeting on Thursday at 6 p.m. at the public library. The president, Curtis Tyner, along with vice presidents Marian B. James and Mozel Jackson, are encouraging all faculty and staff members along with former students to come out and be a part of this meeting. This group is now working on a fish fry fundraiser that will be in October with Donald Tobias. There will be more information about this fish fry in my next article. The next school reunion will be July 14 through 16 in 2017, and the committee members are working faithfully to plan activities that will benefit all involved.
