Teenager injured in 4-wheeler, dirt bike accident

Two teenagers riding on separate recreational vehicles collided on a Bogue Chitto road Wednesday, causing minor injuries to one of the boys.

The accident occurred shortly after 1 p.m. on Bogue Chitto Road near Shannon Drive, Lincoln County Sheriff Steve Rushing said.

One 14-year-old was on a 4-wheeler and his friend, also 14, was on a dirt bike, he said. They were riding side by side on the shoulder of the road, attempted to turn into a field and collided.

“They went to turn into an entrance to a field and ran into each other,” he said.

One of the teens was transported to Southwest Mississippi Regional Medical Center for treatment, he said.
