Brookhaven Farmers Market will open for its ninth season Friday at 7:30 a.m. in downtown Brookhaven in Railroad Park. We will continue with our regular days and hours opening on June 7 from 3 to 6 p.m. in the Amtrak Train Depot.
The vegetable growers, bread bakers and cake makers are excited about kicking off their ninth season. Your regular market vendors will be back along with many new ones.
Locally grown produce and other products that you can expect to see at the first market will include sweet corn, potatoes, squash, cucumbers, snap beans, tomatoes, cabbage, mustard greens onions, honey, eggs, beef, pork and dairy products. As the summer heats up other selections will be available.
Not to forget our bakers — whole grain breads, freshly baked cakes, pastries, fudge and homemade jellies will make their return to the market.
Dairy Day at Brookhaven Farmers is June 10. Come join the fun! Enjoy free ice cream and chocolate milk, visit the dairy calves and milk Elsie the Cow. Visit with your local dairy farmers.
Join us in Railroad Park on June 3 from 7:30 until noon for the opening day of your Farmers Market.
