Former NFL cornerback and Brookhaven alumni Alundis Brice will return home June 4 to conduct his Traveling Football Camp at King Field.

“We are very excited about coming to Brookhaven for this camp and our structure will allow us to maximize your child’s time with former NFL players, former college players and coaches,” said Brice. “It is a very exciting time for me to be able to finally achieve one of my greatest goals in life by giving back to the community that helped me achieve so much in the game of football.”

He also wants to expose and reinforce basic football fundamental to all grade levels as well as provide challenges for the students.

“It’s also a great opportunity for your children to interact with the athletes who have gone on to play at the next level of the game,” he said.

The camp is 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. The cost is $100 and registration begins at 8 a.m.

All players attending the camp are encouraged to check in by 8 a.m. to maximize the amount of time students spend on the field.

The camp will consist of four parts: drills-movements, offensive-defensive fundamentals, offensive-defensive positions and offensive-defensive schemes.

Brice has several years of experience in football both as a player and coach.

After graduating from Ole Miss, Brice was drafted to the Dallas Cowboys where he earned a Super Bowl title as a defensive back. Brice also played for the Philadelphia Eagles and in the Canadian Football League.

During Brice’s injury recovery, he realized he wanted to coach and became a graduate assistant at University of Alabama-Birmingham and went on to coach at Ole Miss, University of Idaho and Portland State.

“In all of my years as a coach, I pushed for the athletes to do well in school, not only for eligibility purposes, but also because I know first-hand that being an athlete doesn’t last a lifetime,” said Brice. “Alongside the classroom focus, I strive for my athletes to excel in technique. My motto has always been ‘Great players do things people never see, ‘which points directly back to my focus on the technical side of football footwork, speed and reading offenses.”

Brice continued, “I have even written a technique manual that I’m looking to get published that has both coaching points for coaches and technique tips for athletes. I currently have four players playing in the NFL, among several others in the UFL, CFL and Arena league and am looking for the opportunity to help young athletes achieve their potential with hard work and dedication.”
