Funeral services for Joyce M. Smith of Brookhaven are Thursday, May 26, 2016, at 11 a.m. at Pearlhaven Baptist Church with burial in Easthaven Cemetery. Riverwood Family Funeral Service is in charge of arrangements.

Visitation is Wednesday, May 25, 2016, from 5 until 8 p.m. at Riverwood Family Funeral Service. She will lie in state from 10 until 11 a.m. at Pearlhaven Baptist Church.

Mrs. Smith, 83, died Tuesday, May 24, 2016, at Countrybrook Living Center. She was born May 29, 1931, to George H. Morris and Rheushell Morris.

She was retired from Stahl Urban as a supervisor and was a member of Pearlhaven Baptist Church.

Preceding her in death were her husband, Chester Smith; parents, George and Rheushell Morris; sisters, Bobbie Rogers, Sheila Formby and Faye Brown; brothers, Walter H. Morris and Robert L. Morris; granddaughter, Cala Malone; and great-grandson, Kollin Smith.

Survivors are her daughters, Betty Lofton and husband, Ken and Brenda Covington; brothers, John O. Morris and Jack I. Morris; sister Mary Nations; four grandchildren, Lisa Beeson and husband, Bobby, Joey Avants and wife, Becky, Missy Smith and husband, Kyrk and Chastity Cooper; nine great-grandchildren, Sawyer Wallace, Shelby Wallace, Karter Smith, Karlea Cooper, Kalin Cooper, Christopher Cooper, Micheal Avants, Brandon Beeson and Afton Lifton; and five great-great grandchildren.
