BHS honors track and field athletes

Brookhaven’s Arnancy Arnold and Adrian Lockwood received the Most Valuable Player honors Thursday night during the team’s Track and Field Awards Banquet.
Johnaya Williams and Kenny Bellamy were selected as the team captains. Danielle Culbert and Andy Brown received the Most Improved Award. Mya Washington and Montero Barton earned the honors of the Most Valuable Field Event Participants.
Miyah Miller and Adrian Lockwood were selected as the Most Valuable Distance Runners. The Most Valuable Sprinter honors went to Johnaya Williams and Jemaurian Jones.
Norman Woodard received the Coaches Award. Deontrei Brown earned the Panther Award. Jerricka Williams and Traveon Murray earned the Therrell Tanner Award.
Artia Robinson and Caleb McCreary captured the Scholastic Award on the girls’ and boys’ track and field teams.
Several players were recognized during the banquet and received certificates for participation, fundraiser recognition, varsity letter recognition and State 5A participation.
Brookhaven also recognized seniors Aaliyah Barnes, Artia Robinson, Jasmine Stewart, Mya Washington, Jerricka Williams, Johnaya Williams, Montero Barton, Deontrei Brown, Kariunte Edwards, Traveon Murray, Garrick Smith and LeXavion Washington.
