Loyd Star, West Lincoln lifters place in state competition

Three powerlifters from Loyd Star and two from West Lincoln competed in the state competition Saturday in Jackson.

Loyd Star’s senior Terril Lloyd won individual gold in the 123-pound weight class for the second straight year in a row. The Hornets also had two ninth graders to finish strong in their weight classes. Terrance Fields captured fifth and Bishop Teekel placed sixth.

Terril Lloyd finished first in 123-pound weight class with a total of 1,020 total pounds. Lloyd had two personal bests in squat with 420 pounds and deadlift with 415 pounds. His bench was 185 pounds.

Terrance Fields captured fifth place in 275-pound weight class with a total of 1,260 pounds. Fields finished with 510 pounds in squat, 250 pounds on bench and deadlifted 500 pounds.

Bishop Teekel was sixth in 132-pound weight class with a total of 795 pounds. Teekel finished with 335 pounds in squat, 140 pounds on bench and deadlifted 320 pounds.

For West Lincoln, Peyton Robinson and James Carroll both finished in sixth place in their competition.

Robinson competed in the 242-pound weight class and finished sixth with a total of 1,075 pounds. He finished with 455 pounds in squat, 185 pounds on bench and deadlifted 455 pounds.

Carroll battled in the 308+ pound weight class and finished sixth with a total of 805 pounds. Carroll finished with 305 pounds in squat, 165 pounds on bench and deadlifted 335 pounds.
