South Jones prevails over Enterprise

The Enterprise Jackets lost to South Jones 9-5 Monday night at Enterprise.
“The guys played well for most parts of the game,” said Enterprise coach Cass Brister. “We just gave up too many walks that hurt us later in the game. Overall, I was pleased with our effort. This was a great learning experience, which will hopefully help us get ready for the playoffs.”
The Jackets (13-7, 8-2) will wrap up their regular season on the road as they visit Monticello to battle the Lawrence County Cougars today. Varsity action begins at 4 p.m., followed by the junior varsity contest.
South Jones 9, Enterprise 5
The Braves came out strong in the first three innings to secure a 6-0 lead, but the Jackets would quickly respond in the bottom of the third with a five-run surge.
After two scoreless innings, the Braves added to their lead in the sixth and seventh innings, outscoring Enterprise 3-0 to secure a 9-5 victory.
Miguel Morgan was the winning pitcher for the Braves with four strikeouts and three walks.
Enterprise used a four-man rotation against South Jones. Luke Burns suffered the setback on the mound as the starter with no strikeouts and four walks. Chase Owens (1K, 1BB), Landon Gartman (2K, 1BB) and Brady Watts (1K, 0BB) all pitched in relief.
Zach Hodges, Austin Fugler, Cade Cangemi, Hunter Richardson, Tanner Waldrop and Brady Watts paced the Jackets with a single each.
Will Mitchell directed the Braves with a double and a single each. Steven Sasser contributed a double. Tyler Ducksworth, Ryne Sasser and John Mitchell provided a single each.
In junior varsity action, South Jones beat Enterprise 12-0.
