Brookhaven boys win golf action

Loyd Star, Wesson girls finished tied for first
The Brookhaven Panthers defeated the Loyd Star Hornets in golf action Tuesday at the Wolf Hollow Golf Course. The Panthers were led by match medalist Joseph Alford Driskell, who shot par 40.
Driskell, along with Judson Henning, 41; MacKenzie Porter, 51; William Rutland, 53; and John Taylor Thames, 54, directed the Panthers to a final score of 185.
The Hornets finished with a final score of 193. Peyton Bullock led the team with a score of 43, Cam Harveston finished with a 45, Halsey Stewart had a 53, Jacob Piazza 52, Ethan Piazza 53 and Jacob Case with a 54.
In girls’ action, the Loyd Star Lady Hornets and the Wesson Lady Cobras finished tied for first place with a final score of 157. The Brookhaven girls finished third with a score of 162.
Madi Lewis paced the Lady Hornets with a score of 50, Makayla Marler had a 54 and Courtney Wyatt finished with a 57.
Carrie McSweyn was the match medalist for the Lady Cobras with a score of 49. Olivia Allen shot a 54.
For the Lady Panthers, Ruby Oberschmidt and Catheryn Oberschmidt scored a 54 each.
