Travis Elton Mitchell, 89, of Fairhope, Alabama, died Monday, Feb. 29, 2016, in Fairhope. He was born in Cullman, Alabama on Dec. 19, 1926, to Logan Morgan Mitchell and Lula Mink Mitchell. 

Mr. Mitchell served in the United States Navy during WWII.  His career as an industrial engineer took him all over the world, and he made friends everywhere he went.  He was a member of Spanish Fort Presbyterian Church in Spanish Fort, Alabama.

Preceding him in death was his wife, Anna Maxine Watts Mitchell, and his parents.

Survivors are his daughter, Susan Lynn Wood and husband, Joseph Mack Wood; brothers, Jimmy Mitchell and Oliver Mitchell; sister, Billy Sue Anderson; two grandchildren, Timothy Joseph Wood and Melissa Jill Wood; and two great-grandchildren.
