Watson earns MACJC Player of the Week honors

WESSON – For the second time this season, Copiah-Lincoln Community College’s Donte’ Watson has been named MACJC Basketball Player of the Week for all games played the week of February 8-12.
Watson had two stellar performances for the week. He scored 27 points and brought down six rebounds in a 93-84 overtime loss to East Central making 5-of-6 from three-point range. Later in the week, Watson finished with 17 points, 11 rebounds, and a team-high three steals. This double-double performance helped propel the Wolves to a 67-58 victory over rival Southwest.
The 6-foot-6 sophomore from New Orleans is averaging 15.1 points and 31 minutes per game. He has started in 20-of-21 games and is second on the team in rebounding with 4.6 per game.
The Wolves travel to Mississippi Gulf Coast for the final game this season is Thursday. Tipoff is set for 7:30 p.m.
