Wesson honors athletes at fall banquet

WESSON – Wesson honored its football, softball and cheerleading squads at a fall banquet Saturday night.
In football, senior Cornelius Barlow received the Most Valuable Player and Best Offensive Player awards. Jamarcus Patterson earned the Best Offensive Back honors. Matthew Craft claimed the Best Offensive Lineman award.
On defense, Jeremiah Stapleton earned the Best Defensive Back and Demarcus Smith received the Best Defensive Lineman award. Kendrick Brown and Bobby Pritchard earned the Best Defensive Player honors.
In slowpitch softball, Kaitlyn Smith was selected as the Most Valuable Player and earned the Best Offensive Player award. Brooke Jones received the Best Defensive Player honors.
In cheer, Brittany Moore was recognized as the Cheerleader of the Year.
Seniors in each sport were recognized with awards for their effort. All team members received certificates for their participation.
Wesson head football coach Ronald Greer welcomed the large crowd to the banquet that was held at the Thames Center.
