Southwest sophomore offensive lineman Vincent Calhoun has added to his post-season honors by being named an NJCAA Second Team All-American. Last month he was selected All-Region and First Team All-South.
Southwest assistant coach Cameron Achord said of Calhoun, “He started two years for us and gave up only two sacks this season. He anchored our left side and allowed us to be more versatile on offense.”
“Calhoun is an A plus character kid,” Achord said. “He showed up ready to go to work every day. You couldn’t ask for a better kid to coach. He’s just a joy to be around.”
Calhoun (6′ 4″, 330-Centennial High School-Roswell, GA) is expected to take advantage of the NCAA’s early signing period to sign with the University of Minnesota and is expected to be an offensive guard for the Golden Gophers.
