Funeral services for Marvin Buitt were Tuesday, Nov. 17, 2015, at 11 a.m. at Stewart Cemetery in Bogue Chitto. Bro. Lindell Greer and Bro. James Jackson officiated the services. Brookhaven Funeral Home (Natchez Drive) was in charge of the arrangements.

Visitation was at Brookhaven Funeral Home (Natchez Drive) on Monday, Nov. 16, 2015, from 5 until 9 p.m.

Mr. Buitt, 71, of Bogue Chitto died Saturday, Nov. 14, 2015, at Silver Cross Nursing Home in Brookhaven. He was born Aug. 7, 1944, in Lincoln County to Jim Buitt and Ruth Mae Richardson Jackson.

He was a retired oilfield worker of approximately 35 years and a member of Bogue Chitto Church of Christ. He served in the United States Army and was a veteran of the Vietnam War. He also enjoyed his involvement in the Ruth Volunteer Fire Department, as well as helping others. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather.

He is preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Leon Buitt, Pearlie Buitt and David Buitt; sister, Geraldine McFall; step-father, Everett Jackson; step-brothers, Robert Jackson, Earl Jackson and Edgar Jackson; and step-sisters, Betty Carroll, Rachel Rippy and Mary Jane Furr.

Survivors include his wife, Elaine McFall Buitt of Bogue Chitto; daughter, Shannon Case and husband, Darren, of Brookhaven; sons, Marvin Buitt and wife, Cherie, of Bogue Chitto, Jimmy Buitt of Bogue Chitto and Billy Ray Buitt and wife, Veronica, of Pearl River, Louisiana; brothers, Sylvester Buitt of Bogue Chitto, Robert Buitt of Bogue Chitto and Charles Buitt of Crystal Springs; sisters, Ann Caves of Bogue Chitto, Emma Jean Smith of Hazlehurst, Nita Fay Lusk of Wesson and Marth Sandford of Jena, Louisiana; step-brothers, Edward Jackson, Henry Jackson and Clifton Jackson; step-sister, Dorothy Wilkinson; nine grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
