West Lincoln places seventh and eighth in state run

CLINTON – The West Lincoln boys placed seventh and the Lady Bears finished eighth in the MHSAA 2A State Championship Cross Country meet at Choctaw Trails Tuesday.

The Bears  were paced by Jason Watts with a time of 17:50. Watts finished in fourth place overall, after finishing fifth last season. He was also named to the All-State team. Todd Calcote came in second behind Watts with a time of 20:40. Jordan Montgomery followed with a time of 20:55. Other runners – Jonathan Mathis (22:05), Tiler Castillo (22:13), Caleb Weeks (25:10) and Trevor Murray (26:16).

The Lady Bears  were led by Lillianne Rushing who posted a time of 25:23. Jana Case followed Rushing in the race with a time of 25:39. Other West Lincoln runners were: Georganna Allen (26:54), Ashley Tabor (26:56), Tess Holley (27:01), Lexis Leggett (30:01) and Maddox Redd (31:40).
