Lady Jaguars win one in tournament action

The North Pike Lady Jaguars captured one win in Saturday’s softball tournament at Gulfport Sportsplex.
The Lady Jags cruised past Hattiesburg 12-2 in the opener, before falling to Neshoba Central 10-0 in the second game and Philadelphia 15-0 in the finale.

Whitley Howell was the winning pitcher for the Lady Jags with four strikeouts and two walks.
Janay Maxwell was the top hitter at the plate for North Pike with a two-run home run. Howell contributed three singles. Linley Smith, Baylee Bryant and Mary Kate Bates provided a pair of singles. Bridgette Talbert hit a double. Jami Spears had a triple and Brianna Rimes hit safely.

Howell suffered the setback on the mound for the Lady Jags with no strikeouts and one walk.
Madison Bates, Baylee Bryant, Whitley Howell, Mary Kate Bates, Brianna Rimes and Janay Maxwell directed the North Pike’s offense with a single each.
Philadelphia 15, North Pike 0
Howell absorbed her second straight setback on the rubber for the Lady Jags with one strikeout and one walk.
Howell was the top offensive player at the plate for North Pike with two singles. Linley Smith also collected a single.
