Brookhaven Academy (0-2), under the direction of second-year coach Blake Purvis, fell to the Central Hinds Cougars 24-13 last week in Raymond.
The Cougars are looking to snap a five-game losing streak Friday when they host the Centreville Academy Tigers at R. M. “Red” Stuard Field.
The Tigers (1-1), coached by Bill Hurst, were hammered by the Parklane Academy Pioneers 34-18 last week in McComb.
BA’s top offensive performer last week was senior quarterback William King, who was 12-of-19 passing for 122 yards and a touchdown. He also rushed for 91 yards.
Defensively, Connor Griffin led the Cougars with 8.5 tackles including a fumble recovery and a tackle for loss. Madison Smith had six tackles including three sacks.
My prediction: Centreville will capture a 28-14 win over BA.
