Teen killed in head-on collision

A 17-year-old was killed in a head-on collision in Lawrence County Sunday night, according to the Highway Patrol.
Kenric D. Grandberry was killed when his car collided head-on with another vehicle on Hwy. 587 at 8:22 Sunday. Grandberry was traveling south when a car driven by Don T. Collins, 28, crossed the center line into the southbound lane and struck Grandberry’s car, the Highway Patrol reported.
Grandberry was pronounced dead on the scene by the Lincoln County corner. Collins was transported by ambulance to Southwest Regional Medical Center and further transported to UMC with serious injuries. Grandberry was not wearing a seatbelt. The accident remains under investigation.
Grandberry was a 2015 graduate of Lawrence County High School. He wore No. 56 for the Cougar football team.
