Mr. Tracy Thomas, of Beaumont, and Ms. Brandy Phillips, of Richton, announce the engagement and approaching marriage of their daughter, Scarlett Thomas, of Petal, to Matthew Hart, of Brookhaven.

He is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Ray Hart, of Brookhaven.

She is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Lamar Thomas, of Beaumont, Mr. Woodie Mathis, of Richton, and Ms. Cheri Mathis, of Petal.

He is the grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. Stanley Ray Hart, of Brookhaven, and the late Mr. and Mrs. Bernice Smith, of Brookhaven.

The bride-elect is a 2011 graduate of the Mississippi School of the Arts and a 2015 graduate of the University of Southern Mississippi where she received a Bachelor of Arts in marketing. She is currently employed with ExpressTime Software Company.

The prospective groom is a 2010 graduate of Brookhaven High School and a 2012 graduate of Copiah-Lincoln Community College. He currently attends the University of Southern Mississippi. He is currently a corpsman in the U.S. Navy Reserve.

The couple will exchange vows at 6:30 p.m., Saturday, July 11, 2015, at The Venue in Hattiesburg. A reception will follow at The Venue.

All friends and relatives are invited to attend the wedding and the reception.
