Calvin Spencer sells his fresh honey made in Bogue Chitto at the opening day of the Brookhaven Farmer’s Market. Spencer’s homegrown honey on sale Friday came from one of his many hives. Vendors set up in Railroad Park starting at 7:30 a.m., offering fresh flowers, breads and other baked goods, milk and cheeses, local beef and pork and lots of produce. Farm Bureau was on-site to grill hamburgers. The Friday farmer’s market runs until 12:30 p.m., and Tuesday’s market will be held in the Amtrak Station from 3 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.
