Ole Brook’s product Scottie Peavey is chasing his dream of one day playing professional baseball.
The Alcorn State senior outfielder turned several heads over the weekend by going eight for 15 at the plate with a home run in three straight games.
Peavey and the Braves will travel to No. 1 LSU Tuesday night for a 6:05 contest at Alex Box Stadium in Baton Rouge, Louisana.
LSU will be the highest ranked team that Peavey has faced during his career thus far.
The soft-spoken Peavey, who has eight home runs this season after leading the SWAC in hitting in 2014, has gained the attention of the pro scouts since his senior year at Brookhaven High, he’s hoping after this season he will get the chance to play at the next level.
“I don’t care if I get drafted or sign as a free agent, I just want to play to keep playing,” said Peavey. “I love this game and just want the opportunity. I know I can play at the next level.”
