The Loyd Star Hornet netter cruised past the Taylorsville Tartars 6-1 in the second round of the Class 2A tennis state playoffs race Monday at the Brookhaven City Courts.

Loyd Star advances to the Class 2A South State championship and will play the Clarkdale Bulldogs next Tuesday. Time and location has not been determined.
