Cathedral cruises past Bogue Chitto

NATCHEZ – The Natchez Cathedral Green Wave cruise past the Bogue Chitto Bobcats to secure a 11-0 win in Region 7-1A baseball action Tuesday night.
The Bobcats (9-5, 1-2) return home to host the Green Wave (10-2, 3-0) Friday night at Stan Long Field. Junior varsity action begins at 5 p.m., followed by the varsity game at 7 p.m.
Cathedral 11, Bogue Chitto 0
Quinton Logan pitched an outstanding game for Cathedral as he held Bogue Chitto to just one hit, striking out 13 batters and walked only one batter.
Offensively, Logan helped the Green Wave at the plate with a home run and three RBIs.
Cathedral jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the bottom of the first inning and it was all Green Wave from there. The Green Wave added five runs in the bottom of the second, one in the bottom of the third and two in the bottom of the fourth.
Nick Parker had a rough outing for the Bobcats. He was pulled after giving up eight runs (five earned) on seven hits with two walks and just one strikeout in one and one-third innings.
Steven Ginn recorded the only hit offensively for the Bobcats with a single.
Brock Farmer went 2-for-2, Andrew Beesley had a double to go with three RBIs and two runs scored, and Craig Bradley had a double and scored twice. Pate Shirley also scored two run and Jacob Jenkins had a double for the Green Wave, which ended up with nine hits.
