Lady Panthers claim wins over Natchez, Terry

The Brookhaven Lady Panthers added another win to their undefeated season as they hammered their Region 6-5A rivals, the Natchez Lady Bulldogs, to claim a 17-0 shutout victory in fastpitch softball action Thursday night at the Ole Brook Lady Panthers Softball Complex.
“It is great to get our first district win,” said BHS coach Mandy Vinson. “The girls played hard and were very selective at the plate. Rileigh Allen pitched a great game with a no hit performance.”
In last Tuesday action, Brookhaven defeated the Terry Lady Bulldogs 9-0.
The Lady Panthers (8-0, 1-0) will host their annual Ole Brook softball tournament tomorrow at the Hansel King Softball Complex. Teams participating in the tournament are West Lincoln, Enterprise, Lawrence County, Wesson, Loyd Star, Franklin County, Warren Central, Hattiesburg, St. Aloysius, Natchez Cathedral, and Pearl.
Brookhaven is schedule to face the Wesson Lady Cobras at 9 a.m., St. Aloysius Lady Flashes at 3:40 p.m. and Natchez Cathedral at 5:20 p.m.

The Lady Panthers came out and quickly overpowered the Lady Bulldogs in three inning of action. Ole Brook scored six runs in the bottom of the first inning and provided an 11-run explosion in the bottom of the second inning to take a 17-0 win over Natchez.
Rileigh Allen was the winning pitcher for the Lady Panthers. Allen tossed a no hitter, while collecting two strikeouts and allowed only one walk.
Orianna Howell suffered the lost for the Lady Bulldogs with two strikeouts and 11 walks.
Jada Henderson powered the Lady Panthers at the plate with a triple. Julianna Porter and Brook Fallon added fuel to the flames with a double each. Hitting safely were Katie Grace Culpepper, Kat Wallace and Shaniyah Jackson.
In junior varsity action, Brookhaven blanked Natchez 12-0.
Madison Thompson pitched the win for Ole Brook with five strikeouts and three walks.
Cheyenne Motley paced the Lady Panthers offense with a double and a single. Madison Thompson and Kat Wallace provided a double apiece. Maddie Miller and Shaniyah Jackson hit safely.

Katherine Shell was the winning pitcher for the Lady Panthers with seven strikeouts and two walks.
Kat Wallace directed the Ole Brook’s offense with two singles. Jada Henderson and Shell provided a double each. Hitting safely were Katie Grace Culpepper, Tia Bussey and Julianna Porter.
In junior varsity action, The Lady Panthers and the Lady Bulldogs contest ended in a 8-all tie.
Rileigh Allen was the starting pitcher for the Lady Panthers.
Maddie Miller, Cheyenne Motley and Meg Foster paced the Lady Panthers’ offense with a single each.
