Celebrating Black History Month

Songs included "Wade in the Water" and "Kumbaya My Lord" and skits were about Michelle Obama, Rosa Parks, Dr. Martin L. King Jr. and Harriet Tubman.

Jonasia Smith (left) dances during a praise dance performance as part of the Annual Black History Program hosted by the NAACP Youth Council Saturday night at The Good Samaritan Hall on East Chippewa Street. The program featured praise dances and portrayals of well-known and not-so-well-known figures from black history and present: such figures as Madame C. J. Walker, Medgar Evers, Beyonce, Hank Aaron, Maya Angelou, Bob Marley, Harriet Tubman and more.
