Bobcats continue action today

VICKSBURG – The Bogue Chitto Bobcats defeated the Mississippi School of the Deaf Bulldogs Tuesday night 61-38 in the Region 7-1A Tournament at St. Aloysius Catholic School.
The Bobcats advances to play the Pelahatchie Chiefs today at 5:30 p.m. The Lady Cats will also be in action today as they battle the Natchez Cathedral Lady Green Wave at 4 p.m.
Bogue Chitto 61, MSD 38
The Bobcats would begin the first quarter flat, but was able to score 16 points as D.J. Nunnery led the charge with a three-point basket. Jeremiah Perkins would also contribute with several field goals of his own by scoring 11 points of the Bobcats’ 16 points to start the quarter.
The Mississippi School of the Deaf would score nine points of their own in the first quarter. Ricky Church pumped in six of the nine points for the Bulldogs.
BC would start the second quarter the same way they started the game, slow and flat line. The Bobcats would still score 14 points as Nunnery would get the offense rolling when he hit another three-point play. Darius Porter would hit another three-point basket to end the second quarter. Dakota McGary would contribute with a couple two-point basket. Jeremiah Perkins would also score a field goal to add to BC’s score as the Bobcats lead 30-17 at halftime.
In the second half, the Bobcats would come out of the locker room with a little fire but not much. Bogue Chitto would score 12 points in the third quarter to extend their lead. The Mississippi school of the Deaf would score eight points in the third quarter.
In the fourth quarter, the Bobcats would score 19 points to win the game 61-38.
Offensively for the Bobcats, Jeremiah Perkins pumped in a game-high 25 points and grabbed eight rebounds to lead the team. D.J. Nunnery chipped in with eight points and six rebounds. Will Fauver scored eight points and had eight rebounds. Dakota McGary netted six points and gathered four rebounds.
Darius Porter contributed six points and three rebounds. Tyler Brumfield added four points and collected five rebounds. Matthew Black provided three points and had six rebounds. Brandon Lewis scored one point. Jermaine Black had three rebounds. Brandon Blackwell had two rebounds.
Offensively for the MSD, Tyler Berry and Ricky Church paced the Bulldogs with eight points each. Darius Trice netted five points. Kemaraus Mecks and Terry Fleming scored four points apiece. Jarier Garcia added three points.
