Bogue Chitto splits with Pelahatchie

PELAHATCHIE – The Lady Cats defeated the Lady Chiefs Tuesday night 56-47 in Region 7-1A basketball action.

In boys action, the Chiefs was victorious with a 88-60 win over BC.

Bogue Chitto returns home for another big district test as they welcome the St. Aloysius Flashes to the Bobcat Palace. The girls game is schedule to begin at 6 p.m., followed by the boys.

Lady Cats 56, Lady Chiefs 47 

The Lady Cats came to play Tuesday night. Terrah Nelson for the Lady Cats was shooting the lights out and scored the Lady Cats their first eight points. Terrah Nelson came down and put up two three-point shots to get the momentum started for the Lady Cats.

The Lady Cats had revenge on their minds and revenge is what they got. BC slowed the basketball game down, which frustrated the Lady Chiefs. The Lady Chiefs was no match for the Lady Cats’ defense.

In the first quarter, the Lady Cats had a great game plan going into the game. Terrah Nelson was the first Lady Cats to get on the board with two quick three-point shots. The Lady Chiefs did have a 6-0 lead to start the first quarter but the Lady Cats did not let that last long with their ability to shoot the ball real well.

Christian Black helped the Lady Cats get the ball out quick due to her rebounding. BC scored 10 points in the first quarter and the Lady Chiefs only scored 8 points.

In the second quarter, the Lady Cats put the petal on the gas again and was able to extend their lead. The Lady Chiefs went to their playbook to try to stop the Lady Cats and get the momentum to swing in their favor but it was not happening as BC went into the locker room with winning 28-15.

In the second half, the Lady Cats came out of the locker room scoring another 17 points but the Lady Chiefs were able to score 17 points as well.

The Lady Cats would score 11 points in the fourth putting their score at 56 and the Lady Chiefs would mustard up 15 points putting their score to 47, but that would not be enough points for the Lady Chiefs.

Offensively for the Lady Cats, Zariah Matthews and Terrah Nelson both had 16 points. Christian Black had eight points. Lauren McCaffrey had five points. Karlie Williams had five points. Shakirianna Jefferson had two points.

Chiefs 88, BC 60 

The Pelahatchie Chiefs defeated the Bogue Chitto Bobcats 88-60 in district play Tuesday night. The Bobcats started the game off great, but the Chiefs won the first quarter by only four points.

In the second quarter the Chiefs won the second quarter as the Bobcats began to struggle. The Chiefs would stay with their game plan through the rest of the game. The Bobcats had a great game plan coming in but was not able to perform the task.

In the third quarter the Bobcats came out of the locker room with no fire. Unforced turnovers in the third quarter would help extend the lead for the Chiefs. At the End of the third quarter the Chiefs was ahead 70-43.

In the fourth quarter the Chiefs scored 18 points to put the score at 88. The Bobcats would only score 17 that quarter to put their score to 60.

Offensively for the Bobcats, D.J. Nunnery had 27 points and seven rebounds. Jeremiah Perkins had 18 points and seven rebounds. Will Fauver had eight points and five rebounds. Tyler Brumfield had three points and one rebound. Dakota McGary had two points and eight rebounds. LaFredrick Dillon had two points and one rebound.
