Copiah-Lincoln Community College’s Board of Trustees held a banquet in honor of 100 years of the board’s existence after their monthly meeting.

• Approved the check register and authorized the payment of the monthly bills. Total revenue as of Nov. 30 is $17,290,558.13 and total expenditures are $19,711,850.94. The revenue is down from this time last year, but so are the expenditures.

• Congratulated Lynwood Easterling, Tommy Jolly, Tommy Sasser and Rickey Smith on their re-appointment to the Board.

“I continue to look foreword to working with you and the rest of the board. This is a fine bunch of people,” said President of the Board Chairman Gene Bates to the reappointed members.

• Approved the resignation of Workforce Education Coordinator/Trainer Rebecca Mobley as of Dec. 10. Mobley is resigning from the Workforce Education program at the Wesson campus, but wants to continue with the college as an adjunct instructor.

• Approved the resignation of Application Support Assistant Mary Pearson in the Technology Department at the Wesson campus. She is retiring from the college as of April 13, 2015.

•Approved the resignation of Welding Technology Instructor Daniel McKinnon at the Wesson campus. McKinnon will not be returning for the Spring 2015 semester. A former instructor will be teaching in his place.

• Approved the resignation of the Vice President of Business Affairs Michael Tanner with sincere regrets. Tanner is retiring from the position as of 2015. Stan Patrick was approved to be transferred from comptroller to Vice President of Business Affairs effective July 1.

“Mr. Tanner has been a tremendous asset to Co-Lin for many years. He has been a great representative at Co-Lin and the community. His presence will be missed for a long time,” said Co-Lin President Ronnie Nettles.

• Approved the employment of Miranda Rankin as SOAR Academic Advisor/Counselor at the Natchez campus effective Jan. 5, 2015. SOAR provides personal, academic and career coaching to students.

• Authorized the administration to employ a TAACCCT Project Coordinator prior to the Feb. 2015 board meeting, with ratification at the Feb board meeting. TAACCCT is a Southeastern Transportation Network training grant that Co-Lin will receive over the next three years.

• Reported that 122 students will walk in the December graduation ceremony that will be Dec. 17 at 9:30 a.m. in the Mullen Gymnasium on the Wesson campus. Students from all three Co-Lin campuses will be walking. A total of 1,184 students will be graduating.

• Approved authorization of the administration to accept the lowest and best bid for the purchase of and instillation of a new boiler for the Redd-Watkins Career and Technical Center at the Natchez campus, with ratification at the Feb. 2015 board meeting. Nettles said the boiler is estimated to cost $60,000.

• Nettles presented a preliminary report on the new Blue Cross Blue Shield grant in the amount of $251,000.
