LCHGS to hold black history presentation

Tonight the Lincoln County Historical and Genealogical Society will be hosting a presentation about Alexander High School prior to integration in Brookhaven.

Dexter Holloway who serves as head of the Alexander Legacy Committee will give the presentation.

What he is calling simply, The Alexander Story, Holloway’s presentation will encompass things that went on at the school such as information about the class, athletics and band. He will also be sharing information about the graduates of the all black high school. Holloway’s connection with the school is through his parents who both went and taught at the school. Holloway’s father was the chair of the Alexander Legacy Committee prior to Holloway’s appointment.

The presentation will take place at the Jimmy Furlow Senior Citizen Center at 6:30 p.m. in Brookhaven.
