Lady Cats sweep tournament action

The Bogue Chitto Lady Cats continue their red hot winning streak in Saturday’s Ole Brook softball tournament at Hansel King Sportsplex
The Lady Cats thumped the Florence Eagles 21-3, knocked off the Brookhaven Lady Panthers 7-5 and beat the Wesson Lady Cobras 15-3.
“Overall, this was a great day for our girls,” said BC coach Scott Leggett. “The girls played hard and had fun. I am proud of them.”
BC (12-6, 2-0) will return to action Monday as they host the Stringer Lady Red Devils in a district make-up game. Junior varsity action starts at 5 p.m., followed by the varsity contest at 6 p.m.
BC 21, Florence 3
Brook Myer pitched the win for BC with one strikeout and three walks.
Hope Herrington suffered the loss for Florence with one strikeout and five walks.
Christian Black provided a monstrous game to lead the Lady Cats with two grand slam homeruns and a solo homerun. Colby Kirkland contributed to the onslaught with a grand slam homerun and a single. Mallory Allen also provided a home run and a single. Myers had a double and a single. Karley Leake ripped a pair of singles. Zariah Matthews and Cherie Savoie had a double each. Hitting safely were Alana Nettles, Terah Nelson and Baileigh Jackson.
Marcie Smith paced the Lady Eagles with two singles. Madison McCalb and Herrington hit safely

Myers tossed the win for BC with one strikeout and two walks.
Rileigh Allen suffered the setback for Ole Brook with one strikeout and four walks.
Matthews, Allen and Nelson powered the Lady Cats at the plate with a pair of singles. Kirkland, Nettles and Jackson hit safely.
Jada Henderson powered the Lady Panthers offense with a grand slam homerun and a single. Kat Wallace contributed three singles. Fallon Brooks had two singles. Hitting safely were Katherine Shell and Haley Speaks.
BC 15, Wesson 3
Myers collected her third win on the evening for BC with no strikeouts and two walks.
Madison Jones absorbed the setback for the Lady Cobras with one strikeout and six walks.
Kirkland sparked the Lady Cats with a home run, a double and a single. Matthews, Black and Nelson contributed two singles apiece. Myers provided a double and a single. Hitting safely were Allen, Nettles and Leake.
Kayla Britt was the offensive leader at the plate for Wesson with a double and a single. Harmoni Ashley ripped two singles. Cheyenne Gladden, Kaitlyn Smith, Abby Meredith and Aurianna Vaughn hit safely.
