Funeral Services for William Lloyd “Billy” Webster Sr. of Brookhaven are 11 a.m. on Friday, Sept. 5, 2014, at Briar Hill Baptist Church in Florence with burial in the church cemetery. Riverwood Family Funeral Services is in charge of arrangements.
Visitation is Friday, Sept. 5, 2014, from 10 a.m. until time of service at Briar Hill Baptist Church.
Mr. Webster, 83, died Tuesday, Sept. 2, 2014, at King’s Daughters Medical Center from complications of pneumonia and heart failure. He was born on Nov. 11, 1930, in Yazoo City to Erskin and Opal Cochran Webster.
He grew up in Sallis with his mother and stepfather, Hansen Cain. He lived most of his life in Jackson until 2005 when he moved to Brookhaven where he was a member of the First Church of the Nazarene.
While in Jackson, he was employed with Vickers’ Inc. He also received his Liberal Arts degree from Trevecca Nazarene College to become a Nazarene minister to fill in at churches when needed. He loved the Lord and was a dedicated Christian.
Preceding him in death were his parents; wife, Lois Frazier Webster; son, William Webster Jr.; stepfather, Hansen Cain; sisters, Ginny Webster and Catherine Cain; brothers, C.B., C.H., Byram, George and Sammy Cain.
Survivors are his daughter, Joyce and husband, Leddrew Thompson; two granddaughters, Kimberly Brewer and Jennifer Campbell and husband, Jonathan; one grandson, Christopher Webster; nine great-grandchildren, Shelby, Corbin, Anna Claire, Emma, Hunter, Asher, Mykala and Preston; two sisters, Clara Jenkins and Johnnie Cain.
