Funeral services for Virginia B. Wallace, of Bogue Chitto, are 11 a.m. Monday, July 28, 2014 at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church with burial in the church cemetery. Riverwood Family Funeral Service is in charge of the arrangements.
She will lie in state from 10 a.m. until time of the service. Visitation will be 5 to 9 p.m. Sunday, July 27, 2014 at the funeral home.
Mrs. Wallace, 92, of Bogue Chitto, died July 25, 2014 at Golden Living Center in Brookhaven. She was born May 18, 1922 to Ance LeRoy Butler and Annie Emmons Butler.
She was a homemaker and a talented seamstress, best known for the hundreds of sock monkeys she made. She was a member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church.
Preceding her in death were her parents; husband, Alton Wallace; brothers, Sammy Butler, U. B. Butler, J.B. Butler; sister, Mildred Nickens; and granddaughter, Susie Wallace.
Survivors are her son, Dennis Alton Wallace and wife, Jan, of Pensacola, Florida; daughters, Mary Kathleen Wilson and husband, Glen, of Wesson, Linda Gayle Wallace of Tellico Plains, Tennessee, and Charlene Wallace of Bogue Chitto; brother, Jack Butler of Houma, Louisiana; sister, Gloria June LeBouef of Houma, Louisiana; sister-in-law, Louise Allgood of Brookhaven; three grandchildren, Hope Wilson, Denise Braswell and Robert Wallace; three great-grandchildren, Jordan Roland, Emilee Braswell and Beau Wallace.
