Local fans experience a fun night of wrestling

Several wrestling fans and families around the area experienced an evening of professional wrestling at the Lincoln Civic Center Friday night as the NWA Bayou Independent Wresting returned to Brookhaven to perform.
The NWA Bayou Independent Wresting presented a “Summertime Blues” event, which featured Vordell Walker, the BIW Southern champ, against Andy Dalton in the main event. It also included several other wrestling matches, which featured Steve Anthony, John Saxon, Apocolypse, Nightmare Known as Jeremiah and Barrett Brown.
Event director Josh Noel of NWA Bayou Independent Wrestling said that it was great to be back in Brookhaven. “We had a great night overall,” said Noel. “Our wrestlers had a great time performing. I was great to see our fans and their families come here to enjoy themselves. It really made it exciting for everyone to watch.
NWA Bayou Independent Wresting first came to Brookhaven in 2008 and again in 2009. Noel mentioned that each year the number of fans have grown. In 2008, they had 100 fans arrived. In 2009, the number increased to 170 and after Friday night, they had 240 fans come to turn out.
Noel stated that NWA Bayou Independent Wrestling is looking forward to returning to Brookhaven on Saturday, Nov. 8.
