John D. Tarver, 48 of Wesson was killed today in an accident in Brookhaven when a fire extinguisher burst.

According to Brookhaven Police Chief Bobby Bell, Tarver was working on an air-conditioning unit at 200 Ave. A, when he found an old fire extinguisher in a dumpster. When he lifted the canister, the pressure discharged the bottom, which hit Tarver in the face, killing him on impact.
