DAILY LEADER / KATIE WILLIAMSON / Mark Curry rides header during team roping practice at the Lincoln County Civic Center arena on Wednesday. Team roping is a rodeo event that involves two riders. The header ropes the front of the steer and the heeler ropes the steer on its hind legs once the header has control.
DAILY LEADER / KATIE WILLIAMSON / Noah Abadie alternates as header during practice. Curry and Abadie are from Centerville and used the covered Lincoln County arena to avoid the rain. During the day, the arena is open to the public for riding, but after 5 p.m. riding rights must be requested by calling the center at 601-832-9064 after 12 p.m. any day of the week.
