Galey: More storms on way

Lincoln County fared well the day after a massive storm front ravished cities and towns in central and north Mississippi, leaving a trail of destruction across the state.
“So far, we haven’t received one call concerning damage in Lincoln County,” Galey said Tuesday morning. “This isn’t to say there isn’t any damage, only that we haven’t been made aware of it.”
A storm front that is coming in tonight is likely to resemble Monday’s storm, and is expected to cross over the central to southern portion of the state, including Brookhaven and Lincoln County, Galey said. “It will look just like last night’s storm. The only difference is that it will hit the southern part of the state.”
Since the brunt of Monday’s storm passed well north of Lincoln County, Galey advises caution.
“I advise people to stay informed and keep up to date with news of the storm.”
More than likely, Lincoln County will be under a tornado watch by early Tuesday afternoon, Galey suggested.
There was .2 inches of precipitation recorded for Monday.
