Brookhaven wins High School Cup in Brandon

The Brookhaven Panther Tennis Team competed in the High School Cup tennis tournament this past weekend in the Jackson area. The Panther netters won the Cup with team total of 1,451 points.
Each player competed in singles and doubles matches. Points were awarded and the accumulation of points determines the winner.
Brandon High School took second place with 1,133 points. Third place was received by Jackson Prep with 866 points.
Florence, Jackson Academy, Madison Central, Pearl, Pisgah and Richland also participated in the event.
The Ole Brook Panthers (10-1) will be in action Thursday as they host the South State Finals at Brookhill Tennis Center. BHS will be playing against Stone County at 3 p.m. Panthers coach Nancy Fisher stated that they would love to have a big crowd come out and support these fine young players.

18 novice boys singles – 3rd place: Caleb Owens
18 novice boys doubles – WINNER: Caleb Owens and Cooper Patterson
18 open girls singles – 3rd Place: Madison Currie
18 open girls doubles – WINNER: Madison Currie and Chantel Quarles
18 open boys singles – 2nd place: Jacob Bozeman. 3rd place: Braxton Hinton.
18 open boys doubles – WINNER: Braxton Hinton and Jacob Bozeman
