Wesson blanks Hazlehurst

HAZLEHURST – The Wesson Cobras remain undefeated in Region 7-3A baseball action as they crushed the Hazlehurst Indians 12-0 Thursday night.
“I am very proud of my guys effort,” said Wesson coach Seth Lofton. “We came out hitting the ball and set the ton of the contest early. We need to continue hitting the ball well as we get ready for the playoffs. Tyler McLeod pitched another great game for us.”
The Cobras (9-11, 6-0) will host a Region 7-3A varsity doubleheader Monday against Jefferson County. Game action starts at 5 p.m.

The Cobras had no problems dismantling the Indians Thursday as Wesson held Hazlehurst scoreless in a four-inning no-hitter contest.
Tyler McLeod was the winning pitcher for the Cobras with four strikeouts and two walks.
Jarvius Brown suffered the loss for the Indians with one strikeout and seven walks.
Mack Smith sparked the Cobras at the plate with a pair of two-run home runs. Jase Alexander fueled the flames with a double and two singles. Hitting safely were Austin Crow, Preston Middleton, Mac McQuage and MeLeod.
