WESSON – The Co-Lin Wolves and Lady Wolves swept Holmes Community College in tennis action on Friday. The Lady Wolves improved to 4-4 on the season, defeating the Lady Bulldogs 7-2. In men’s action, the Wolves cruised past the Bulldogs 8-1.

Lady Wolves 7, Lady Bulldogs 2 

Co-Lin won four of six singles matches and swept all three doubles matches. In singles action, No. 1 Melody Smith defeated Johnna White 6-4, 6-1; No. 2 Courtney Watts defeated Laurie Alvis 6-1, 6-0; No. 4 Allie Dear defeated Katherine Woods 6-1, 6-0; and No. 5 Carlianne Alderman defeated Lori Nesbitt 6-2, 6-0.

Jennifer Rule of Holmes defeated Savannah Brister 6-4, 6-1 at No. 3 and Elizabeth Petro defeated Carly Riley 7-6(4), 6-3 at No. 6.

In doubles action, Melody Smith/Courtney Watts defeated White/Alvis 8-1 at No. 1, Savannah Brister/Allie Dear defeated Jennifer Rule/Katherine Woods 8-5 at No. 2, and Erika Dear/Caroleah Brister defeated Anna Claire Shores/Elizabeth Petro 8-2.

Wolves 8, Bulldogs 1 

The Bulldogs defaulted at No. 1 singles and No. 3 doubles and forfeited at No. 5 and No. 6 singles. For Co-Lin, Graham Watson defeated Connor Wilson 6-1, 6-3 at No. 3 and Brandon Nettles defeated blanked John Crews 6-0, 6-0 at No. 4. The Wolves only loss came at No. 2 singles, Will Godfrey of Holmes defeated Coleman Carraway 6-4, 7-5.

In doubles action, Dwain Perkins/Graham Watson defeated Dylan Throgmorton/Connor Willson of Holmes 8-5 and Brandon Nettles/Coleman Carraway defeated Will Godfrey/John Crews 8-3. Josh Smith/Steve Del Cid won by default at No. 3.

Co-Lin travels to Hinds in Raymond on April 9, with matches beginning at 2 p.m.
