COLUMBIA – The Loyd Star Lady Hornets quickly dominated the East Marion Lady Eagles to gain a 19-0 win Thursday in Region 6-2A softball action.

The Lady Hornets (6-1, 1-0) will be in action today as they host the Bogue Chitto Lady Cats at Jan Delaughter softball field. Junior varsity action starts at 5 p.m., followed by varsity action at 6 p.m.

Loyd Star 19, East Marion 0 

Kelsey McCullough pitched the victory for the Lady Hornets with one strikeout and two walks.

Lexie Butler continues her hot hitting streak to lead Loyd Star with two doubles and a single. Makenzie Smith contributed a double and two singles. Abigial Thornton and Ali Gartman ripped a pair of singles. Raigan Smith had a double. Madison Jones hit a single.

In junior varsity action, Loyd Star roasted the Lady Eagles 13-3.

Makenzie Smith tossed the win for the Lady Hornets. Johnna Norman ad Sarah Butler powered Loyd Star’s offense with a home run apiece. Marley Poole and Andrea Butler hit safely.
