Funeral services for Kathleen Barry Stallings of Wesson are 11 a.m. on Thursday, March 6, 2014, at Little Byhalia Baptist Church with burial following at Little Byhalia Cemetery in Wesson.

Visitation was held Wednesday, March 5, 2014, from 5 until 8 p.m. at Riverwood Family Funeral Service and continued at 10 a.m. at the church until the time of service.

Mrs. Stallings, 67, died Saturday, March 1, 2014, at her residence. She was born in Wesson in 1947 to Wessie Lee Barry and Andrew Porter Barry.

She worked at Touro, JoEllen Smith Hospital, F. Edward Hebert and Rehab Living Center. She loved nursing, and especially the rehabilitation unit. Her love for nursing shined through her to everyone around her. She was a recipient of the 100 Great Nurses Award among many others. She was a loving grandmother as well and doted on babies in general.

Preceding her in death were her parents and her brother, Bill Barry.

Survivors are her daughter, Wessie Lynn L’Hote (Matthew); her four sisters, Edouida Smith of Wesson, Elenor Burge (Dwight) of Hattiesburg, Becky Hayes (Ed) of Brookhaven, and Geneva Earls (Randy) of Wesson; and three grandchildren, Aiden, Evan, and Wesley.

Pallbearers include David Smith, Sam Smith, Lee Barry, Chris Hayes, Chad Hayes, and Shane Hayes. Honorary Pallbearers include her grandsons Aiden, Evan, and Wesley.
