Frances Geraldine ‘Granny’ Alderman

Funeral services for Frances Geraldine “Granny” Alderman of Jackson, La., and formerly of Brookhaven, will be 11 a.m on Saturday, Feb. 22, at Baker Funeral Home with burial in Hillcrest Memorial Gardens. The Rev. Ted Roeling will conduct the services. Baker Funeral Home, 6401 Groom Road, Baker, La., is in charge of arrangements.
Visitation is Saturday from 9 until 11 a.m. at the funeral home.
Mrs. Adlerman, 88, died Feb. 19, 2014, at her residence. She was born in Brookhaven. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Baker and enjoyed crocheting and babysitting for her grandbabies.
Preceded her in death were her husband, Ralph Thomas “Pappy” Alderman; three sisters, Ernestine Smith, Mildred Johnston, and Audrey Nell Smith; brother, Harold Price; and her parents, Sidney and Mamie Smith Price.
Survivors are her daughter and son-in-law, Sheila and Louis Dunigan of Jackson, La.; son and daughter-in-law, Tommy and Patti Alderman of Brookhaven; sister, Libby King of Durango, Colo.; six grandchildren, Heather Dunigan of Denver, Colo., Heidi Parker and husband, Casey, of Zachary, La., Cameron Alderman of Portland, Ore., Chelsea Chaves and husband, Guillermo, of Jackson, Miss., Carlianne Alderman, and Cory J. Alderman, both of Brookhaven; and three great-grandchildren, Hayden Burton-Parker, Kennedy Parker, and Tomas Chaves.
Pallbearers are Cory Alderman, Casey Parker, Guillermo Chaves, Lamar Foote, Michael Redd, and Sid Gautreaux.
Honorary pallbearers are Cameron Alderman, Hugh C. Smith, Glenn Redd, Paul Redd, J.W. Redd, Billy Anderson, Jerry James, and Darrin Guilbeau.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Canon Hospice of Baton Rouge, 1761 Physicians Park Dr., Baton Rouge, LA 70816.
