THE DAILY LEADER / RACHEL EIDE / Brookhaven firefighters prepare to apply water to put out a mock fire in the fire department’s training trailer Friday during a training exercise. During the training drill, the firefighters went through the smoke-filled trailer, putting the mock fire out and removing a dummy representing an occupant.

As smoke continues to billow from the trailer, Capt. Albert Brown Jr. (left in photo at right) talks with a firefighter about the exercise. Brown said the department members participating in the drill were Capt. Kelly Porter, Lt. Blake Wallace, Lt. Aaron Welch and firefighters Chris Davis, Fredrick Kees and Lance Lewis.
