Southwest guard Deione Weeks has been selected the MACJC’s men’s basketball Player of the Week for the week of January 6-10.

Weeks, a 6′ 2″ sophomore from Corinth (MS) High School, went 13-19 from the field (including 7-12 from three-point range) and scored 34 points as the Bears defeated Mississippi Delta (76-69) and Holmes (87-81).

Against Mississippi Delta, Weeks was 7-9 (including 3-5 from behind the three-point line) with three assists and four steals. He was 6-10 (4-7 from three-point range) for 16 points with an assist and a block against Holmes.

As the league’s Player of the Week, Weeks will automatically be nominated for the national Player of the Week award.
