The two-time defending Class 1A State Champion Bassfield Yellowjackets had two players receive huge honors on the 2013 All-Region 7-2A Football Team, which included senior fullback Alvin Moore being named the Most Valuable Player of the Year.

Middle linebacker Racheem Boothe of Bassfield was selected Most Valuable Defensive Player in Region 7-2A after leading the Bruins to the region championship East Marion’s junior quarterback Johnathan Abram was chosen as the Most Valuable Offensive Player of the Year.

The coaches from Region 7-2A classification gather together and vote on the players selected.

Representing Lincoln County in Region 7-2A is Loyd Star, West Lincoln and Enterprise, which all had several players to be selected on 2013 All-District Team.

Representing the Loyd Star Hornets were La’Treall Smith, Dustin Hart and Konner Allen. Chosen from the West Lincoln Bears were Jonah King and Sloan Nations. Jake Case was selected for the Enterprise Yellow Jackets.

In other special honors, West Lincoln, Loyd Star and Enterprise players were chosen to be on the Super 22 Offensive and Defensive Teams of Region 7-2A.

On offense for West Lincoln were running back Bryce Temple, Lofton Sills at tight end, and Tyler Moak at offensive guard. On defense, Luke Barrilleaux was selected as a defensive lineman.

On offense for Loyd Star was guard Nicholas Smith. Defensively, Seth Farmer was chosen at defensive back and Peyton Flowers at linebacker.

Jackson Cole represented Enterprise on the Super 22 Defensive Team as a defensive back.
