Funeral services for Haley Rachel Allen of Brookhaven are 1:30 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 29, at Riverwood Family Funeral Service with interment at Hollywood Cemetery in McComb.

Visitation was Saturday, Dec. 28, from 5 until 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

Miss. Allen, 21, passed away on Dec. 26, 2013, at her residence.

She was born on Nov. 5, 1992, to Bart Wendell Allen and Sharon Sterling Allen.

She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Brookhaven. She graduated from Brookhaven High School in 2011 and was Salutatorian of her class. She was a junior in the Shackouls Honor College at Mississippi State University. She was a member of the Golden Key International Honor Society along with other honor clubs. She was invited to China by the International Scholar Laureate Program and had been accepted to intern at the Animal Kingdom Engineering Department at Disney World, Orlando.

She is preceded in death by her grandparents, Thad Wendell Sterling, Frances Marbury and Carl Edward Allen.

She is survived by her parents; her brother, Noah Sterling Allen; and her sister, Hannah Elizabeth Allen. She is also survived by her grandmothers, Ruth Rita Westmoreland and Norma Lynn Sterling; her very special aunt and uncle, Terry and Diane Butrick; as well as many other aunts, uncles and cousins.

A fund has been established in her honor at Bank of Brookhaven, 411 Brookway Blvd., Brookhaven MS 39601, 601-835-3033, for an Engineering Scholarship for a female student at Mississippi State University.
