Funeral services for Elzadie Ferguson Moore are 11 a.m. on Monday, Dec. 23, at Mary’s Temple Church of God in Christ with burial at Springfield Cemetery in Springfield, Miss.

In celebration of Elzadie Moore’s life and to give the glory and honor to God, a viewing will be held from 1 until 6 p.m. for friends and family on Sunday at Williams Mortuary. Family visitation will start at 6 p.m.

On Wednesday, Dec. 18, 2013, our dear Mother Moore departed this life. Mother Elzadie Ferguson Moore was born to the late Willie and Ozie Mae Ferguson on Nov. 3, 1927, in Bogue Chitto. She worked as a cook for the public schools and Brook Manor Nursing Home.

She was preceded in death by her father, Willie Ferguson; her mother, Ozie Mae Ferguson; husband, R. J. Moore; two daughters, Sandra Carter and Elzadie (baby sister) Moore; two brothers, James Ferguson and Willie Ferguson Jr.; and a grandson, Eric D. Smith.

She leaves nine children to cherish her memories; Robert Moore and Anthony Moore and wife, Carolyn, all of Moss Point, Lucius J. Moore, of Brookhaven, Betty Lyons and Melvin Moore, of Bogue Chitto, Sharon Pickens and husband, Larry, of Port Gibson, Carolyn Foster and husband, Willie, of Richmond, Calif., Orville Moore and wife, Jennette, of Byram; and Oliver Moore, Leaksville. She also leaves 24 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren; one sister, Elenora (Charles) Cooley, of Richmond, Calif.; one sister-in-law, Lucy Ferguson, of Bogue Chitto; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, church family and friends.
