Cephus C. Johnston

Funeral services for Cephus C. Johnston of Brookhaven will be Monday, Nov. 4, at 11:30 a.m. at Riverwood Family Funeral Service with burial in Easthaven Cemetery.
Visitation is Monday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service at Riverwood Family Funeral Service.
Mr. Johnston, 91, died on Oct. 31, 2013, at his residence. He was born in Mississippi on July 9, 1922.
He graduated from Bogue Chitto High School and attended Whitworth College. He served in the Army during World War II and was awarded ATO and EAMETO Medals with Service Stars for Northern France, Ardennes, Rhineland and Central Europe Battles and Campaigns along with Good Conduct, World War II Victory Medals and the Army Marksmanship Badge.
He was retired from Coca-Cola in sales after 50 plus years. He was a member of Central Baptist Church where he loved serving as a deacon with his church family and ministering and visiting with shut-ins.
Mr. Johnston was preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Mildred Johnston.
He is survived by his daughter, Donna Wilkerson, and husband, Grady; one grandson, Darrin Guilbeau, and wife, Debbie; and two great-grandchildren, Kaylie and Sam; and a special longtime friend, Juanita Williams.
The family would like to thank those at Hospice Compassus, nurse Kayla Simmons, assistants and Dr. Ray Montalvo.
