Memorial service for Virginia Bernice Davis Curtis

are 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 9, at Bogue Chitto Church of Christ. A graveside service will follow at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church Cemetery in Bogue Chitto. Brother Lindeal Greer will officiate. Catchings Funeral Home of Summit is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Curtis, 79, died Oct. 3, 2013, at Beacham Memorial Hospital, Magnolia. She was born in Magnolia on Nov. 22, 1933, to Hiram H. and Carrie Carter Cutrer.

She was a retired cosmetologist, CNA, and carpenter. She was a Baptist and a loving wife, mother and grandmother.

Preceding her in death were her parents; husbands, Clyde O. “Speck” Davis and J.W. Curtis; sisters, Maggie Cutrer Toney, Mozelle Cutrer Gust, Connie Cutrer McDaniel, Faye Cutrer McQuillian, and Mamie Cutrer Chisholm; and brothers, Ray Cutrer and Brother Harry Cutrer.

Survivors are her daughter, Sandra Davis Nunnery and husband David of Magnolia and Stephanie Davis Holmes and husband Tim of McComb; son, Charles C. Davis and wife Janice of Bogue Chitto; sister, Lela Cutrer Forman of McComb; grandchildren; Shannon Boone King (Trey), Vickie Boone Magee (Brian), Luke Hale, Deanna Allen, Jodi Scott (Stephen), Chase Davis (Amy), Hannah Holmes, Abbi Holmes, Kyzar Holmes, Titus Holmes, Tuff Holmes, Shealyn Holmes; great-grandchildren: Eden Bailey, Kayden McKnight, Jasmine Magee, Layla McKnight, Kaylee Mazeres, Madison Knight, Landon Davis, Taylor Scott, Baylor Davis, Reagan Davis, Carter Davis, Payton Davis; and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
